Custom Domain Setup
Configure a custom domain for candidate interview pages to reinforce branding, improve trust, and use familiar URLs.
Overview
Use a custom domain for candidate interview pages when you want interview links to match your organizationโs brand. Common examples include interviews.yourcompany.com and yourcompany.com/interviews.
Why use a custom domain?
A custom domain makes interview pages feel like part of your company experience instead of a third-party link. That matters when candidates are deciding whether to open a link, share it, or complete an interview.
Brand recognition is the main benefit. When candidates see a domain they already know, they are more likely to trust the page and continue with the interview flow.
Key benefits
-
Brand consistency โ Keep interview pages aligned with your company name and domain.
-
Higher trust โ Use a familiar URL to reduce hesitation when candidates open the link.
-
Cleaner sharing โ Share interview pages with a URL that is easier to recognize and remember.
Steps to setup custom domain
Choose your domain format
Decide whether you want to use a subdomain or a path on your main domain.
Subdomains are often recommended for interview pages because they are easier to isolate and manage. A common pattern is interviews.yourcompany.com.
Add the domain in your admin settings
Enter the domain you want to use in the custom domain settings.
Settings > Integration > Custom Domain Setup
Use the exact value you plan to route candidates to, such as interviews.yourcompany.com or yourcompany.com/interviews.
Configure DNS with your provider
Create or update the required DNS record with your DNS provider so the domain points to the interview pages.
DNS propagation can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 48 hours. If verification fails, wait and try again later. If you use Cloudflare, make sure the record is set correctly for your setup: gray cloud for DNS only or orange cloud if your configuration requires proxying. The domain must be active, properly configured, and managed by a valid DNS provider.
Verify the domain
Return to the custom domain settings and run verification after the DNS changes have propagated.
Verification succeeds once the domain resolves correctly and the interview page can be reached through the configured address.
Test the interview URL
Open the final URL and confirm that the interview page loads at the custom domain you configured.
A successful setup shows the interview page at your branded URL without requiring a fallback address.
