How to Link Factors to Questions

Connect evaluation factors to interview questions so AI scores the skills and competencies that matter for each question.

What is Linking Factors to Questions?

Linking factors to questions connects each evaluation criterion to the interview question it should score. This tells AI which skills, behaviors, or competencies to look for when it evaluates a response.

When factors are linked correctly, AI scores each question against the right criteria instead of applying the same rubric everywhere.

Linking Options

Single Factor per Question

Use a single factor when one question measures one specific skill or competency. This keeps scoring focused and makes review faster.

Multiple Factors per Question

Use multiple factors when one question evaluates more than one competency. Link only the factors that the question actually measures so the scoring stays relevant.

Exclude Questions from AI Evaluation

Exclude a question when it should not contribute to AI scoring. Use this for questions that are not meant to assess candidate performance.

Best Practices

  • Link only factors that are directly relevant to the question.

  • Keep one question focused on one primary competency when possible.

  • Use multiple factors only when the question genuinely measures more than one skill.

  • Exclude questions that do not belong in the evaluation score.

  • Review linked factors after setup to confirm the scoring model matches your interview design.

Proper linking keeps AI scoring accurate and consistent across interview questions.
